Property Management
Overview
Property Management maintains accurate records and accounts for all controlled and capital equipment possessed by Lamar University.
Property Management is also responsible for maintaining the surplus warehouse for Lamar University.
Tagging Criteria
Our department places property tags on any single item with an acquisition cost of $5,000 or greater.
Purchases in the categories listed below also receive property tags if the acquisition cost is $500 to $4,999.99, unless otherwise noted.
- Guns of any value
- Computers – Desktop, Laptop, and Servers of any value
- Smartphones, Tablets, and Other Handheld Devices of any value
- Stereos, Sound Systems, and Other Audio Equipment
- Disc Players, VCRs, and TVs
- Cameras
- Camcorders
- Projectors
- Drones
KEY DUE DATES: Certification of inventory verification is due June 15, 2023.
Property Management Forms
- Acknowledge Receipt of Gift-In-Kind or Loaned Inventory
- Designation of Department Property Custodian
- Equipment Cannibalization Record
- Equipment Transfer Request
- Department to department transfer
- Relocate furniture and equipment in the same department
- Update tagged property location for inventory
- Request items from Surplus
- Found Asset Not on Inventory
- Improvement and Betterment of Existing Asset
- Inventory Tag Request for Fabricated Equipment
- IT Equipment Removal Request
- Only for items with hard drives (i.e. computers, laptops, tablets, copiers, etc.)
- NOT for monitors, keyboards, mouse, printers, etc.
- Missing, Damaged, or Stolen Property Investigation Report
- Remove Equipment from Campus Request

- Removal of unwanted furniture and equipment
